12. THROTTLE FULL FORWARD<br />
Because the engine could be flooded, push the THROTTLE to the FULL<br />
FORWARD position.<br />
13. ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP OFF<br />
Depress the ELECTRIC FUEL PUMP switch in the OFF position.<br />
14. IGNITION SWITCH BOTH (START)<br />
Verify that the IGNITION SWITCH is in the BOTH position if the propeller is<br />
windmilling. If the propeller has stopped, turn the Ignition Switch key to the<br />
START position to attempt an engine restart.<br />
NOTE<br />
If the engine starts, smoothly move the Mixture Control to the<br />
Full Forward (Full Rich) position, and adjust the throttle to set<br />
the desired power setting.<br />
If the engine fails to start:<br />
15. TRANSPONDER 7700<br />
Enter 7700 (emergency code) into the TRANSPONDER to alert ATC (your<br />
aircraft “tag” will flash on the radar screen).<br />
16. RADIO MAYDAY<br />
If not already in communication with ATC, attempt to establish RADIO<br />
contact with ATC on the last frequency used, or transmit on 121.50 MHz to<br />
make a MAYDAY call. State the aircraft registration number and position, if<br />
known, or last known position and estimated position relative to it, the<br />
number of “souls” on board, and the color of your airplane.<br />
Emergency Landing Without Engine Power Checklist:<br />
17. PASSENGER SEATS/SEATBACKS UPRIGHT<br />
Ensure that all PASSENGER SEATBACKS are in the full UPRIGHT<br />
position for landing.<br />
18. SEATBELTS/HARNESSES ON<br />
Ensure that passenger SEATBELTS and shoulder HARNESSES are ON<br />
and adjusted.<br />
