In 1906 an enthusiastic group of Burra mo<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>rists formed the ‘Burra Mo<str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>r Club’ and planned their 13<br />

inaugural run over a rough bush track <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> the busy river port <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>wn of <strong>Morgan</strong>, some 82 kilometres away.<br />

Drivers rested their weary bodies at The Gums Stati<strong>on</strong> and <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g>iled <strong>on</strong> <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> <strong>Morgan</strong> the next day, arriving <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g><br />

“We are asking every<strong>on</strong>e <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> have vehicles assembled <strong>on</strong> the Li<strong>on</strong>s Riverfr<strong>on</strong>t Reserve prior <str<strong>on</strong>g>to</str<strong>on</strong>g> 11.30am.”<br />
