Rapid EIA Studies of 3 Pre-identified Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites in NCT - Delhi: Page No.24 (1. Guidelines for "An Appropriate Management of Domestic Sanitary Landfill Sites" by H. Oeltzschner and D. Mutz, Publication: Deutche Gesellschaft fur Tecnische Zusanmmenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH., 1994.) Phase - II: Site Identification, Investigation and Evaluation Criteria After the sites pass the examination for the above criteria, they are included in the detail investigation and are further evaluated as per "Site Evaluation Criteria" (Table 3.4). The sites have to be investigated for geological, hydro-geological, ecological and civil engineering point of view. These criteria have been adapted and modified to suit the Indian Environmental conditions, from the Criteria developed by United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) (2) . The following key factors have to be considered for investigating the sites. • General Data e.g. volume, traffic links and distance from main waste source ; • Geology and Hydro-geology ; • Meteorological aspects; • Nature protection and land use.
