Rapid EIA Studies of 3 Pre-identified Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites in NCT - Delhi: Page No.5 Chapter - 2 HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT IN NCT OF DELHI INTRODUCTION National Productivity Council (NPC) had carried out "Inventorisation of Hazardous Wastes Generated from Approved Industrial Areas/ Estates in NCT of Delhi" in the year 2001 as per the Hazardous Waste (Management & Handling) Amendment Rules, 2000 on behalf of Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC). The report submitted to DPCC covers the inventorisation and classification of polluting units in each of the 28 approved industrial areas/ estates of Delhi, according to their respective industrial sector/ sub sector. The data/ information regarding the management of hazardous waste generated in NCT of Delhi is referred from the above report and is given below. As per the above report, there are a total of 28 approved industrial areas/ estates (IAEs) in Delhi. The Location of 28 approved IAEs is shown in Fig 2.1.
