Annex II, Page No ii south of the site there is a shallow surface water stream (1-1.5 m wide) used mainly for washing etc. Just adjacent to the northwest boundary of the site construction work going on for a 60-m wide road (as a part of master plan work by DSIDC).The eastern boundary is a brick wall. Adjacent to this wall, on the other side is a Rice mill. The northern boundary is fenced. Observations: As high-tension line is passing through the site, the site would require clearance from Electricity Authority. Also, the ground water table near the site is around 1 meter below the existing ground level which would be having a negative bearing on site selection as CPCB criteria suggest a minimum distance of 2 meter between the ground water table and base of the landfill. Both factors will reduce the capacity of landfill tremendously even though site is selected for development. As DSIDC has already carried out soil investigations around the proposed site recently, the following information /data may be requested by Deptt. of Environment to DSIDC: ∗ The detailed site map with survey numbers/khasra numbers of the proposed site ∗ The names of the villages located around the 10-km radius of the site, if possible. ∗ Geo-technical details of the proposed site, if available, as they have already selected the neighboring site for a proposed CETP at Bawana.. Annex II, Page No iii Site II: Wazirpur CETP Site A site visit was made on 15.02.2002 in order to assess the prima facie suitability of the above-proposed site. The description of site is as follows: SITE - 1 : Wazirpur CETP Site The proposed site was visited by study team along with Mr. Singh, DSIDC. The site is located within Wazirpur Industrial Area adjacent to CETP. The site falls between two railway lines viz, Northern Railway and Azadpur Railway. The site is about 3-5 Km from Sanathan Dharma Mandir. The longititude and latitude of the site are : 28 o 48' 36" N 77 o 04' 55" E The layout map of the site is attached at Annexure - 1. Observations: The total area of the site is 12747 sq. m. The site has flat topography and the soil is observed to be mixture of yellow and grey colour. The site at present is a wasteland. There are about 25 nos. of trees. at the site. Western side of the site touch the CETP boundary and on the north western side the JJ clusters. Remaining area surrounding the site
