Rapid EIA Studies of 3 Pre-identified Hazardous Waste Disposal Sites in NCT - Delhi Page No.165 The scores obtained by all the proposed sites as per the evaluation criteria mentioned above are as given below: As per MOEF Ranking system As per the criteria adapted by NPC Sensitivity Rank Score Rank Index Site I 417 III 322 III Site II 406 II 339 II Site III 360 I 347 I Site IV 474 IV 320 IV As per MOEF criteria, the site with more score poses more risks to human health and environment. The hazard potential of the site is as follows depending upon the score: Overall Score Generalised level of Potential Hazard 750 - 1000 Very High 600 - 750 High 450 - 600 Moderate 300 - 450 Low Less than 300 Very low Development of SLF at Site I, II & III exhibit low potential hazard where as at Site IV, it is moderate hazard. Site III has minimum sensitivity index, therefore is the most suitable site. For a site to be selected (under the criteria adapted by NPC followed internationally), it should have a minimum score of 300. A site with a score of 400 is ideal. All the sites have scored more than 300. But Site III has the highest score, is therefore the most suitable site. The ranking order of the four sites as per MOEF criteria and criteria adapted by NPC and used internationally is similar. Site III has been ranked 1 as per MOEF criteria as well as criteria adapted by NPC. Therefore Site III is recommended for development of SLF for disposal of hazardous waste. 5.3.4 Conclusions & Recommendation All the four sites were evaluated as per CPCB, MOEF ranking system and International criteria. Some of the positive and negative attributes for each site are as given below: Environment Division, National Productivity Council, New Delhi 7

The scores obtained by all the proposed sites as per the evaluation criteria
mentioned above are as given below:
As per MOEF Ranking system As per the criteria
adapted by NPC
Sensitivity Rank Score Rank
Site I 417 III 322 III
Site II 406 II 339 II
Site III 360 I 347 I
Site IV 474 IV 320 IV
As per MOEF criteria, the site with more score poses more risks to human health
and environment. The hazard potential of the site is as follows depending upon the
score:
Overall Score
Generalised level of Potential Hazard
750 - 1000 Very High
600 - 750 High
450 - 600 Moderate
300 - 450 Low
Less than 300
Very low
Development of SLF at Site I, II & III exhibit low potential hazard where as at Site IV,
it is moderate hazard. Site III has minimum sensitivity index, therefore is the most
suitable site.
For a site to be selected (under the criteria adapted by NPC followed
internationally), it should have a minimum score of 300. A site with a score of 400 is
ideal. All the sites have scored more than 300. But Site III has the highest score, is
therefore the most suitable site.
The ranking order of the four sites as per MOEF criteria and criteria adapted by NPC
well as criteria adapted by NPC. Therefore Site III is recommended for
development of SLF for disposal of hazardous waste.
5.3.4 Conclusions & Recommendation
All the four sites were evaluated as per CPCB, MOEF ranking system and
