EATING HABITS OF
A LOCAVORE
Babette Wils, Instructor
Eating local food, produced close home is fun, healthy,
and good for the environment. It is also good for local
farmers and the local economy, and helps maintain our
beautiful farm landscapes. It can also be challenging,
especially after the local Farmer’s Markets close for
the season. Join us to learn the many ways in which
you can fill your pantry with good food – grown close to
home – year round from an instructor who has been a
practicing locavore for 10 years. Limited to 16.
DRAWING FUNDAMENTALS
Robb Sandagata, Instructor
This class will be geared for beginners and will focus
on basic drawing concepts: line, contour, shape, form,
value and texture. These will be applied as we engage
in a variety of activities, such as drawing from still life,
large-scale environment, self-portrait, and the figure.
While drawing from observation will be our main focus,
abstract possibilities such as conveying mood and
movement through line will also be explored. Classes
will combine short exercises introducing skills and
concepts with longer, more individualized drawing
opportunities. A materials list will be posted by class title
on the district website www.needham.k12.ma.us under
Community Ed and Adult Education. Limited to 12.
