EXERCISE, HEALTH & WELL-BEING NEW HULA HOOPING Kat Suwalski, Instructor Learn to unleash your inner child with cardio based hula hooping! It is an exciting way to broaden your workout while creating a healthy body and mind. Hooping conditions your core, works on proper body alignment, boosts flexibility and stability, and lowers stress with an exhilarating aerobic total body workout. No prior hooping experience is required! The hoops are used as resistance training for all levels. Wear exercise clothes, bring a water bottle and an open mind, and watch as you laugh your way to a “new” you. Hoops are provided and are available for purchase. Limited to 16. 10446 $99 7 Thursdays @ NHS Dance Studio (Room 817) 5-6pm February 28 – April 11 NEW ZUMBA® TONING Sandra Thorbjornsen, Instructor Zumba Toning combines basic Zumba fitness moves with a toning stick to strengthen and tone your muscles. The movements and rhythms are set to fast-paced, entertaining music. Zumba dance moves will be interspersed with sculpting and toning exercises that emphasize the use of a toning stick. Use of the toning stick improves your movement and helps you focus on toning different body parts, including arms, thighs, and butt. Join us for this exuberant dance and fitness class – and get toned for spring and summer! Please wear cross trainers or dance shoes, fitness attire, and bring a water bottle to class. There will be a fee of $20, payable to the instructor in class, for a pair of 1 pound Zumba toning sticks. Limited to 16. 10445 $109 8 Mondays @ Eliot School Performance Center 7-8pm March 4 – May 6 (no class March 25 & April 15) Moving with energy in Zumba 20/20/20 WORKOUT Pearl Pressman, Instructor Have you been looking for a class to help you become more active and healthy This 8-week class will help you build a leaner, more sculpted body, improve your posture and balance, and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. You will also learn proper weight training techniques, which is the key to success. We will start with 20 minutes of low-impact aerobics, followed by 20 minutes of strength training exercises for all the major muscle groups of the body, and then conclude with 20 minutes of gentle stretching exercises to increase flexibility and reduce muscle tension. The class will be geared for participants of all fitness levels and abilities. Please wear comfortable workout clothing, and appropriate footwear for the aerobics portion of class, and bring a set of light hand weights (3-5 pounds), a mat or towel, and water to class. Please note: you can take this class once a week, on either Mondays or Wednesdays, or register for both days at a discounted rate.
