Greeting
Program
I offer my sincere congratulations to the organisers of the Sixth Kang Dong-suk Concert
for a Hepatitis B free World, and applaud their continued efforts to raise public awareness
of the seriousness of this disease.
Georges Bizet (1838~1975)
Carmen overture
This year’s concert enables audiences to enjoy really wonderful musicians from Spain, the
Edouard Victor Antoine Lalo (1823~1892) Symphonie Espagnole in d minor Op.21, 4th Mov.
UK, the US and Korea. With a world renowned violinist, guitarist and double bass player,
and the Prime Orchestra conducted by Karel Chichon, I am sure we will all enjoy the
strong passion of Mediterranean music. I hope this passion will also strengthen the will to
eradicate Hepatitis B, and raise the spirits of those suffering from it.
Manuel de Falla (1876~1892)
Suite Populares Espanolas
The UK company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is renowned around the world for its work in the health sector. I thank GSK
Korea and KASL (The Korean Association for the Study of the Liver) for their organising this concert and for keeping
the dangers of Hepatitis B and the efforts made to eradicate it in the public eye. Patients and non-patients alike,
including the families of sufferers, will I am sure be encouraged by this very worthwhile event.
