Hardy Frame® HFX-Series Panels and Brace Frames<br />

combine the most desirable properties for a shear wall:<br />

strength, stiffness and ductility. This revolutionary system<br />

has been tested and evaluated under the ICC-Evaluation<br />

Service AC322 Acceptance Criteria and has been proven<br />

to provide the highest allowable shear loads in the<br />

industry combined with abundant ductility for a seismic<br />

“R” value of 6.5. Along with its superior engineering<br />

properties the HFX-Series is easier than ever to install,<br />

is code listed for varied installations that include support on a floor system and vertical<br />

stacking conditions. Anchorage solutions include standard grade or high strength<br />

grade for maximum values<br />

Hardy Frame® HFX-Series Panels are available in widths of 9, 12, 15, 18, 21 and<br />

24-inches and are typically manufactured in heights that correspond to a standard<br />

portal (78 inches) and standard wood stud lengths. When installed on concrete<br />

simply secure to the foundation with a Hardy Frame® Template Kit that includes<br />

two 1-1/8 inch diameter hold down anchors (grade is specified by the Design<br />

Professional). The top channel connects to a collector above with 1/4-inch diameter<br />

<strong>USP</strong> “WS-Series” screws through pre-punched holes.<br />

Hardy Frame® HFX-Series Brace Frames are 32 or 44 inches wide and<br />

heights correspond to standard wood stud lengths. Connections to the<br />

foundation require two 7/8 inch diameter hold down anchors (grade per<br />

the Design Professional) that are included in Hardy Frame® Template<br />

Kits. The connection to the collector above is made with 1/4-inch diameter<br />

<strong>USP</strong> “WS-Series” screws through pre-punched holes. Field studs are<br />

provided in Brace Frames for easy attachment of surface finishes with<br />

self-tapping screws.<br />
