Nurturing of Children Bible Witness
Biblical Counsels for the
Upbringing of Our Children
✎ Give thanks to
God always for the
children He has
blessed you with!
When God gives us
children, we must view
them as God’s gis
and thank God for the
opportunity to have
them. “He maketh
the barren woman to
keep house, and to
be a joyful mother of
children. Praise ye
the LORD” (Psalm
113:9). “Children are
an heritage of the
LORD: and the fruit
of the womb is his
reward” (Psalm 127:3).
✎ Begin praying with
your children from
birth. You will be
amazed how quickly
they begin to pray
with you! “Come,
ye children, hearken
unto me: I will teach
you the fear of the
LORD” (Psalm 34:11).
✎ Help them to know
Jesus as early as
possible. “But Jesus
said, Suffer lile
children, and forbid
them not, to come unto
me: for of such is the
kingdom of heaven”
(Mahew 19:14).
✎ Read the Bible to your
children. Sharing the
Bible, during a family
time together, can be
a wonderful
spiritual
experience. A
daily family
worship/
devotion is
an excellent
opportunity
to share the
Word with
the children.
“And these
words, which I
command thee
this day, shall
be in thine heart: and
thou shalt teach them
diligently unto thy
children, and shalt talk
of them when thou
siest in thine house,
and when thou walkest
by the way, and when
thou liest down, and
when thou risest
up” (Deuteronomy
6:6-7). “We will not
hide them from their
children, shewing
to the generation to
come the praises of
the LORD, and his
strength, and his
wonderful works that
he hath done. For he
established a testimony
in Jacob, and appointed
a law in Israel, which
he commanded our
fathers, that they
should make them
known to their
children: that the
generation to come
might know them,
even the children
which should be born;
who should arise and
declare them to their
children: that they
might set their hope in
God, and not forget the
works of God, but keep
his commandments”
(Psalm 78:4-7).
✎ Have patience with
your children. Listen
to them; don’t just
hear what they are
saying. Give them your
aention and observe
