enables accountability and management of approximately $38B worth of<br />
equipment in both retail and wholesale environments.<br />

AFEMS is the system of record for Air Force equipment management<br />
capabilities worldwide<br />
Without AFEMS users in the field would be required to revert to manual<br />
processes. Manual processing of data would degrade the timeliness<br />
and accuracy of the data used.<br />
The Air Force would also lose the centralized capability to determine,<br />
authorize, account for, provide visibility to, manage, and report the<br />
types and quantities of equipment and information technology (IT) assets<br />
required to accomplish Air Force missions.<br />
