is pleased to present a rare retrospective
of work by Louise Nevelson.
A Ukrainian born American emigre,
Nevelson began an early art
career when given the opportunity to
assist Diego Rivera with his
renowned WPA-funded murals. By
the 1940s, Nevelson’s focus had
become sculpture and 1943 marked
the beginnings of her signature
“assemblages”- striking and unconventional
amalgams of discarded
objects and wood scraps.
