West Allegheny to Host Gold Card Club Holiday Breakfast

The West Allegheny football team has reason to celebrate after its WPIAL win over West Mifflin; sophomore Alexis O’Shea finishes
eighth in PIAA cross country finals.
As the fall sports season came to a close,
and the winter season kicked off, West
Allegheny athletes proved once again
why there is so much pride in being an
Indian. A few fall highlights included:
Varsity Football
With a 24-7 commanding semi-final
victory, our varsity football team positioned
themselves to be in the WPIAL
Championship game against the West
Mifflin Titans. History at Heinz was made
when our Indians went undefeated in their
title game appearances and downed West
Mifflin 34-8. The post-season games
capped off an impressive season with a 12-1
record at press time, a share of the Parkway
Conference title, and the school’s sixth
Wilson Elementary students commence
WPIAL the Opening Championship. Ceremonies PIAA of Track quarter and finals

Boys’ Varsity Soccer
Boys’ soccer finished their season with a
15-3 record that included a co-section title
and victories over Waynesburg High School
in the first round of the WPIAL playoffs,
but a disappointing 1-0 loss to Belle Vernon
in the quarter finals.
Cross Country News
Congratulations to Alexis O’Shea for
medaling and finishing eighth in the PIAA
cross country finals at Hershey on
November 3, 2012. Teammates Adelle
Collins and RJ Freese both finished in the
top third of their respective races, as well.
