Eight of Brother Green's contemporaries joined Canadian<br />

Foundation directors and Rusty Richardson (U.S.<br />

Foundation) to honor Fred and learn more about the<br />

Canadian Foundation.<br />

is entering his fourth year in<br />

Honours Political Science at<br />

the University of Western<br />

Ontario, '99, where he received<br />

an entrance scholarship<br />

in 1996 and will start the<br />

<strong>1998</strong>-99 academic year as<br />

chapter president. Outside<br />

the classroom, Cliff was a<br />

member of the varsity rowing<br />

team, was on his residence<br />

executive committee,<br />

and coordinated the first<br />

date rape/sexual assault<br />

seminar sponsored by the<br />

chapter. Cliff's previous chapter<br />

involvement saw him<br />

tackle the roles of pledge<br />

educator, recruitment chairman<br />

and Leadership College<br />

delegate. His fine work<br />

earned him the local<br />

chapter's <strong>Phi</strong> of the Year<br />

award<br />

for<br />

Hara,<br />

British Columbia, '00, is entering<br />

his third year in<br />

honours biochemistry with<br />

a solid B-plus average.<br />

Taiyo's strong sense of academic<br />

discipline earned<br />

him two entrance scholarships<br />

and have seen him<br />

donate time to helping others<br />

as a peer tutor. Taiyo's<br />

campus and community<br />

involvement are exemplary.<br />

On campus, he is involved<br />

with intramural volleyball<br />

and soccer. Ambassadors<br />

For Jesus, the UNICEF<br />

Club, Chinese Student's Association<br />

and the UBC<br />

Anime Club. Off campus,<br />

Taiyo is committed to his<br />

volunteer roles including<br />

one-to-one patient care at<br />

Vancouver Hospital and<br />

food drives and<br />

fundraising with the local<br />

food bank.<br />

Jason Schonberg<br />

Dalhousie '99 of Nepean,<br />

Ontario,<br />

is a<br />

newlyinitiated<br />

brother<br />

at <strong>No</strong>va<br />

Scotia<br />

Alpha<br />

and received<br />

his $850 scholarship<br />

on his way to his initiation<br />

ceremony. Jason was treasurer<br />

of his pledge class, has<br />

been elected chapter secretary<br />

for <strong>1998</strong>-99, is a member<br />

of the varsity wrestling team,<br />

judo and outdoor clubs, and<br />

is in the third year of a combined<br />

biology<br />

and English<br />

degree.<br />

prizes of $625. Geoff Rudy<br />

Carli of Richmond Hill,<br />

Ontario, is in his fourth year<br />

of an economics degree at<br />
