Eight of Brother Green's contemporaries joined Canadian
Foundation directors and Rusty Richardson (U.S.
Foundation) to honor Fred and learn more about the
Canadian Foundation.
is entering his fourth year in
Honours Political Science at
the University of Western
Ontario, '99, where he received
an entrance scholarship
in 1996 and will start the
1998-99 academic year as
chapter president. Outside
the classroom, Cliff was a
member of the varsity rowing
team, was on his residence
executive committee,
and coordinated the first
date rape/sexual assault
seminar sponsored by the
chapter. Cliff's previous chapter
involvement saw him
tackle the roles of pledge
educator, recruitment chairman
and Leadership College
delegate. His fine work
earned him the local
chapter's Phi of the Year
award
for
1997-
98.
British
Columbia
Alpha's
Taiyo
Hara,
British Columbia, '00, is entering
his third year in
honours biochemistry with
a solid B-plus average.
Taiyo's strong sense of academic
discipline earned
him two entrance scholarships
and have seen him
donate time to helping others
as a peer tutor. Taiyo's
campus and community
involvement are exemplary.
On campus, he is involved
with intramural volleyball
and soccer. Ambassadors
For Jesus, the UNICEF
Club, Chinese Student's Association
and the UBC
Anime Club. Off campus,
Taiyo is committed to his
volunteer roles including
one-to-one patient care at
Vancouver Hospital and
food drives and
fundraising with the local
food bank.
Jason Schonberg
Dalhousie '99 of Nepean,
Ontario,
is a
newlyinitiated
brother
at Nova
Scotia
Alpha
and received
his $850 scholarship
on his way to his initiation
ceremony. Jason was treasurer
of his pledge class, has
been elected chapter secretary
for 1998-99, is a member
of the varsity wrestling team,
judo and outdoor clubs, and
is in the third year of a combined
biology
and English
degree.
The
last two
scholars
share
equal
prizes of $625. Geoff Rudy
Carli of Richmond Hill,
Ontario, is in his fourth year
of an economics degree at
York University '99 and holds
the offices of house manager,
risk manager and historian.

Paulo
University
of
Toronto,
'00, is
entering
his third year of civil engineering
while serving the
chapter as treasurer and risk
management chairman.
