Vanderbilt '74, serve as
trustees of the Hoyt-
JoUey Foundation.
Foundation Trustee
Emeritus, T. William
Estes, Jr., Vanderbilt '55,
chaired the judging
committee again this
year. Joining him in
reading and judging the
71 undergraduate nominations
and the 26
graduate fellowship applications
were former
General Officers Oliver J.
Samuel, Kansas '48, and
John J. Budack, Minnesota
'57. After completing
his judging
responsibilities, Brother
Samuel wrote,"... my
faith in the 'younger'
generation has been restored!
The young men
represented are a class
act—it was enjoyable
reading."
Everyone involved
with the Foimdation's
scholarship program
agrees with Ollie that
each of the men nominated was a class
act. To be sure, the Phis, their families,
and our other donors whose generous
support make our scholarships possible
also qualify for "class act" status! They
have our heartfelt thanks.
