Ontario Epsilon
Carleton University
Greetings from Canada
and more specifically Ontario
Epsilon, during this icy winter
storm. Our chapter is off to a
great start in the area of community
service, as we aided in
the clean up of broken trees
and other obstructions in our
neighboring community
caused by the "Ice Storm of
'98". The project was thought
of by Mark Patafie.
The Ontario Epsilon chapter
of Phi Delta Theta would
like to extend hearty congratulations
to its two new
initiates: Ryan Stinson and
Guiseppe Rodgers.
What the chapter lost in
quantity we gained in quality
with the addition of these two
members. Our chapter is especially
proud to announce
that we are now debt free after
many years, and with our
treasurer's attitude we will
stay that way for a long time.
South
Carolina Gamma
Clemson University
Considering the number of
students that went through all
of spring rush here at
Clemson, this semester has
been quite successful for us
with seven new Phikeia. We
hope this success is an indication
of the direction in
which our chapter is headed.
Future plans include raising
money for research funding
for Pediatric Cancer as well as
raising money to help support
the ALSA. We also look
forward to participating in all
the Greek activities around
Clemson's campus during the
spring. The brothers of South
Carolina Gamma would also
like to express their gratitude
toward the growing support
from alumni. With this continued
success and support,
it is great to see how the
family of Phi Delta Theta
grows year after year.
Tennessee Epsilon
University of Tennessee-
Chattanooga
The fall semester at the
University of Chattanooga
was very successful for the
Tennessee Epsilon chapter of
Phi Delta Theta. Fall rush
brought twenty-seven new
Phikeias to our chapter, the
most ever in the history of
Tennessee Epsilon. After a
successful Phikeia education
program we beHeved that
these new men are ready to
step up and help lead Phi
Delta Theta into the next century.
Homecoming week went
very well. After a year of absence
we brought the annual
"Homecoming Bed Race" trophy
back to the case. Oirr annual
Parents Day was a huge
fm
success and the biggest turnout
ever for this occasion. On
this day we opened the new
Eta South Library at our
house which was renovated
under the direction of Peter
Floyd. The brothers would
like to thank all of the Phis
who helped make this possible,
especially Peter. The new
library offers a wonderful
place to hold informal meetings
and study.
We were involved in many
endeavors to service others
this semester including Chi
Omega Care Days, Sigma
Kappa Week of Giving, volunteer
work at the Community
Kitchen and helped build
Kids Place (an inner-city
playground).
