INT. REAL ESTATE OFFICE - DAY<br />
TIGHT on an EMPTY CHAIR in front of a desk, in this pleasant<br />
but bland corporate office. A man wearing a SUIT AND TIE --<br />
not as fancy as Hugo Boss, but something nice from Men’s<br />
Wearhouse -- enters frame, visible only from the neck down.<br />
As he sits into frame, we REVEAL that this well-dressed man<br />
is none other than JESSE. His eye is now completely healed<br />
and his hair is neatly combed. Without his usual knit cap<br />
and baggy clothes, he looks like a different person. Sharp,<br />
handsome... respectable even.<br />
He’s also a little nervous. He’s got a piece of paper in<br />
his hand. He slides it across the desk toward us.<br />
JESSE<br />
(earnest)<br />
My resume. I haven’t worked in<br />
real estate before, but I do have a<br />
background in sales. I think I<br />
could be a major asset to your<br />
company.<br />
REVERSE ON -- the MANAGER of this REAL ESTATE FIRM, sitting<br />
behind the desk, across from Jesse. He doesn’t even look at<br />
Jesse’s resume.<br />
MANAGER<br />
I’m sorry, but... this isn’t a<br />
sales position.<br />
Jesse stares at him, confused.<br />
MANAGER<br />
All of our brokers have at least<br />
two years’ on-the-job experience,<br />
and usually a college degree.<br />
Oh.<br />
JESSE<br />
(embarrassed)<br />
MANAGER<br />
What you would be doing is more<br />
like advertising.<br />
As Jesse considers this, the manager goes to the window and<br />
opens the blinds, revealing...<br />
