He offered me a job!<br />
Silence for a beat. Skyler absorbs this.<br />
WALT<br />
That’s what you wanted, right?<br />
SKYLER<br />
Walt. I swear to you, I didn’t put<br />
him up to this.<br />
WALT<br />
Well, what did you think he was<br />
gonna do? You tell the man I’m<br />
dying --<br />
SKYLER<br />
(erupting)<br />
-- I did not tell him you are<br />
dying! You are not --<br />
WALT<br />
-- Whatever. Whatever, alright?!<br />
He’s a multi-millionaire! What’s<br />
he gonna say, “Sorry, too bad,<br />
you’re on your own?”<br />
SKYLER<br />
So he wants to help -- why is that<br />
a bad thing?<br />
Walt, not completely sure why, struggles with this question,<br />
trying to figure it out for himself. Skyler waits for an<br />
answer, frustrated by his silence.<br />
SKYLER<br />
Walt, he wouldn’t offer you a job<br />
if he didn’t think you were<br />
qualified --<br />
WALT<br />
-- Oh yes, he would. Because when<br />
I turned down the job, he offered<br />
to simply pay for the treatment.<br />
Another stunned silence from Skyler. At this point, she’s<br />
as angry as Walt.<br />
SKYLER<br />
Please tell me you’re taking the<br />
money.<br />
