What NPK fertilizer would you recommend? That can be answered once several
questions are answered pertaining to the length of the crop, type of plants
grown, facility mixing capabilities, injection capabilities and irrigation systems
are known.
What micronutrient package would be best to use? It will depend on water your
water analysis, crop type and nutritional requirements are identified and what
other fertilizers are being added to the growing media.
What fertilizer rate would you recommend? An optimum rate or range could be
recommended once the crop is known, it’s balance of residency, what if any
fertilizer is already in the water and when and with what was it fertilizer
originally with?

Dean & Julie Nelson(Owners)
Dean Nelson and his wife Julie were 26 years
old with a two year old daughter, pregnant with
their second child, and absolutely no income
when Dean came home one day and announced
“We’re going to start a fertilizer company.” That
was in the fall of 1983. There were no
customers, no fertilizer plant, no experience…
just a vision with a lot of hope and faith. Dean
did have some things in his back pocket, though.
A great life growing up on the family rice farm
in Katy, Texas where important decisions had to
be made daily to keep crops and animals alive.
No matter what, the work had to get done.
Another back-pocket asset was the invaluable
education received during undergraduate and
graduate studies in Agricultural Economics at
Texas A&M. Leadership skills were learned
during four years as a member of the famed
Corps of Cadets at A&M and then as an infantry
officer in the Texas National Guard.
