LONDON 2016:
PROGRAMME AND ACTIVITIES
The events, concerts and programme for the Menuhin Competition
and Centenary celebrations are being developed in close collaboration
with our major partners. Consistent with previous Competitions,
London 2016 will be innovative and of outstanding artistic excellence.
Each competitor stays for the entire eleven-day event, forging friendships
with fellow musicians and having an opportunity to perform, learn from
each other and from the maestros of the Jury, and give master classes in
schools and the wider community. This activity will also inspire the rich
Outreach and Education Programme.
A number of world-class violinists have already agreed to serve on the
Centenary Jury – including Julia Fischer, Ray Chen, Henning Kraggerud and
Tasmin Little – all under the chairmanship of American violinist Pamela
Frank. The full Jury will be announced in early 2015.
