Mutual Assistance Pacts
Signed by VI Festival
VIRGIN ISLANDS—Mutual assistance
pacts to facilitate the exchange of films
and informatioH have been signed by the
Virgin Islands International Film Festival
with the Moscow Film Festival, the Berlin
Film Festival and the Alexandria Film
Festival, it was announced by J. Hunter
Todd, president of the Virgin Islands festival.
Similar pacts were signed earlier with
the Teheran Film Festival and the Zagreb
Film Festival.
"T am happy about each of these agreements
but especially proud of the Moscow
pact," Todd said. "This is the first time
the Russians have signed such an agreement
with a Western festival."
The Virgin Islands International Film
Festival, held in Georgia seven seasons as
the Atlanta Film Festival, will take place
November 7-16 on the three U.S. Virgin
Islands, with headquarters on St. Thomas.
It will be known as "The Festival of the
Americas."
According to Todd, the request for entry
information on the 1975 festival "is up
300 per cent over this time last year. Moreover,
we've run only one ad and this has
been in response to that ad." The 1974
Atlanta festival, also directed by Todd, was
the world's largest in terms of the number
of entries and feature films premiered.
Todd leaves immediately to promote the
Virgin Islands International Film Festival
in South and Central America for a fortnight.

Program Book Is Prepared
For 'Shout at the Devil'
LONDON—Producer Michael Klinger
has prepared a special exhibitor program
book with production notes and color art
for promotion of his "Shout at the Devil,"
$7,000,000-budgeted production directed by
Peter Hunt on African locations and on the
island of Malta. Lee Marvin, Roger Moore
and Barbara Parkins star in the film.
Paul Kijzer, Klinger's Madrid-based sales
representative, disclosed that distribution
rights to "Shout at the Devil" have been
sold all over the world, except for the U.S.-
Canadian market, Australia-New Zealand
and Japan. However, after Kijzer's recent
two-week visit to New York and Hollywood,
he said he expected a major U.S. deal to
be finalized.
Golden Globe Awards Will
Be Aired Via Metromedia
HOLLYWOOD—The Hollywood Foreign
Press Ass'n's presentation of its annual
Golden Globe Awards will be telecast via
Metromedia Jan. 24, 1976, from the Beverly
Hilton Hotel. President Roy Cummings
said the awards program once again will
be produced by the FimCo Corp. and it
will be seen around the world via satellite.
December 23 is the closing date for
entries for motion pictures and TV shows
for the HFPA's 33rd annual awards, according
to Cummings.
