tanıtımı, IEA Başekonomisti<br />
Fatih Birol’un katılımıyla<br />
gerçekleşti.<br />

(IICEC) ve APCO <strong>World</strong>wide tarafından<br />
düzenlenen toplantıda konuşan<br />
Birol, enerji gündemine ilişkin soruları<br />
yanıtladı. Rusya ile Ukrayna arasında doğal<br />
gaz konusundaki görüşmeler ile ilgili soruları<br />
yanıtlayan Birol, müzakerelerden<br />
olumlu sonuç çıkacağını tahmin ettiğini ve<br />
bu sonucun da herkes için kârlı bir netice<br />
sağlayacağını ifade etti. Irak ve Doğu<br />
Akdeniz gazı ile ilgili yorumlarda bulunan<br />
Birol, “Şu anda hem Irak’a hem de Doğu<br />
Akdeniz gazına baktığımız zaman burada<br />
rezervler açısından bir sorun yok. Buradaki<br />
sorunlar şu anda tamamen jeopolitik<br />
nedenlerden doğan sorunlar. Bu sorunlar<br />
halledildiğinde, bu gazın tüketici merkezlere<br />
gitmemesi için bir neden görmüyorum”<br />
dedi. Toplantıda enerjinin Afrika’nın geri<br />
kalmış ekonomiye sahip olması gerçekliğini<br />
tamamıyla değiştirebileceğine değinen<br />
Birol, büyüme potansiyeli son derece yüksek<br />
bu kıtada Türkiye de dahil gelişmekte<br />
olan ülkeler için çok büyük yatırım imkanları<br />
olduğuna dikkat çekti.<br />

Africa Special Report”<br />
was introduced in Turkey<br />
with the participation of<br />
IEA Chief Economist Fatih<br />
Birol.<br />
Making a speech at the meeting<br />
held by Sabancı University<br />
İstanbul International Center for<br />
Energy and Climate (IICEC) and<br />
APCO <strong>World</strong>wide, Fatih Birol answered<br />
the questions about the energy agenda.<br />
In reply to questions about natural gas<br />
negotiations between Russia and<br />
Ukraine, Birol expressed that he<br />
expects a positive result in the negotiations<br />
and that it will be beneficial for all<br />
parties. Birol commented on Iraq and<br />
Eastern Mediterranean gas and said,<br />
“Now there is no problem regarding the<br />
reserves for Iraq and Eastern<br />
Mediterranean. Here, the problems<br />
are completely geopolitical. When these<br />
problems are settled, this gas resource<br />
can be distributed to consumers”. Birol<br />
underlined that energy can change the<br />
fact that Africa has an underdeveloped<br />
economy, and he also stated that<br />
there are huge investment opportunities<br />
in this prospective continent for<br />
developing countries, including<br />
Turkey.<br />
