educator with award
for excellence
November 15, 2012 the
Camarillo Chamber honored
third grade teacher Diane Yamashiro
of Tierra Linda Elementary
School with the first
of six Educator of the Month
Awards to be given out this
school year.
The Educator of the
Month Program is designed to
honor local educators who are
going above and beyond to
support the youth of Camarillo.
Each year the Camarillo
Chamber honors several of
the city’s teachers with this
award.

Nominations are still
being accepted for the 46th
annual Top Ten Community
Awards. For forty five years
the Top Ten Community
Awards have acknowledged
deeds and actions of individuals,
businesses and organizations
that make Camarillo
a better place to live and do
business.
The 2013 event is scheduled
for Friday, March 22 at
Spanish Hills Country Club.
The event will be held from
6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will be
an elegant gathering of some
of the most respected residents
and businesspeople in
Camarillo.
The Camarillo Chamber
of Commerce is now accepting
nominations from community
members for the following
awards:

• Woman of the Year
• Youth of the Year
• Educator of the Year

nomination form, which may
be found at the Chamber office,
or online at Camarillo-
Chamber.org. The deadline
for nominations – both hardcopy
and online – is 5 p.m.
Friday, December 11 at the
Chamber office, located at
2400 E. Ventura Blvd in Camarillo
Old Town.
The winners of the 2013
Top Ten Awards will be announced
by the Mayor of
Camarillo at the January 23,
2013 City Council meeting,
which will be aired on
the government channel.
Following the mayor’s announcement,
the winners’
names will be printed in local
media publications and
posted on CamarilloChamber.org.
