SEC Notes
SECond To None
In the past 22 years, the Southeastern Conference has been the top college
baseball conference in the nation. Consider:
• Since 1990, 145 squads have received NCAA Tournament bids to lead
the nation.
• A nation-leading 43 SEC teams have recorded College World Series
berths since 1990, winning nine of the last 22 NCAA titles (1990, 1991,
1993, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2009, 2010 and 2011) and five runner-ups
(1997, 2002, 2005, 2008 and 2011).
• Ten different SEC squads (Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia,
LSU, Mississippi State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt) have made
CWS appearances since 1990, the most squads from a conference to
appear in Omaha since that time.
• SEC squads have appeared in 26 of the last 27 College World Series, with
the lone miss in 1992.
• Since 1990, 28 SEC squads have posted 50+ wins, while 107 have won
40+ games in a season, including seven in 2010.
SEC IN THE COLLEGE WORLD SERIES
22 NCAA titles (1990, 1991, 1993, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2009, 2010 and
2011), finished runner-up five times and has put more teams in the College
World Series than any conference in the country. Take a look at the SEC’s
success in the last 22 years:
