562 Jackson, Andrew (1767-1845) Seventh President of the United States. Attractive partly engraved Document<br />

Signed “Andrew Jackson” as President and “Louis McLane”as Secretary of State, 1 page, folio,<br />

on vellum, [Washington], April 22, 1835, #7 issued in New Bedford, Massachusetts. A scallop-topped<br />

ship’s passport for the “Barque Bramin Enos Pope” master or commander of the burthen of “two hundred<br />

forty five and 44/95” tons...mounted with “no” guns navigated with “eleven” men. State of “Massachusetts”<br />

District of “New Bedford”, countersignature of the customs collector is illegible. With original<br />

and intact government wax Seal of the United States at lower left. Docketing on reverse - March 12,<br />

1836, from the District and Port of New Bedford (Massachusetts). It reads “...[illegible] having taken<br />

the oath required by law — is at present master of the within named vessel [signed] Samuel Williams Collector.”<br />
