of the United States Constitution. Partly printed Document Signed “James Madison” as President, 1<br />
page, oblong folio, on vellum, Washington July 27, 1814. A land grant to John Ritter of Fairfield County<br />
Ohio, for a quarter lot “the southeastern quarter of section Eighteen of township Fourteen in<br />
range Twenty...” Also signed by Commissioner of the General Land Office Edward Tiffin. With wax and<br />
paper seal, damaged. Fold wear, foxing, soiling, and toning, VG. Also included in this lot Monroe,<br />
James Fifth President of the United States (1758-1831, served 1817-25); Secretary of State and Secretary<br />
of War under James Madison; earlier US Senator and US Minister to France and also to Great<br />
Britain; Governor of VA; officer in the Revolution; protege of Thomas Jefferson. Partly printed Document<br />
Signed “James Monroe” as President, 1 page, vellum folio, Washington, 12/4/1823. A land grant<br />
registered at Chillicothe in Ohio office, to Thomas Mathews of Pike County Ohio The East half of the<br />
South East Quarter of Section Eight, in township Five, Range Twenty-one..” Also Signed by Commissioner<br />
of the Land Office, “George Graham”. Well soiled, stain in mid-lower center, especially at edges,<br />
with some damage to land office seal, ink a little light but signatures clear, overall G/VG. Est. 200-300<br />
