Dunn & Compy. Richmond, Va. Printed by Hoyer & Ludwig. A very rare issue with only 380 bonds issued. Fine-VF, scattered age spots and light paper toning. (photo) Est. 250-350 184 184 Act of January 29, 1863. Cr. 116. B-156. No 1722. £100 / 2,500 Francs. The Erlanger Loan. Woman with Confederate flag and cotton bales watches ship. Signed by Baron Emile Erlanger (French and German loan manager), J. Henry Schroeder (British Agent), Colin J McRae (Financial Agent in Europe, Alabama businessman and Confederate Congressman) and John Slidell, CSA Commission to France. VF+, with just a trace of natural age toning. Very nice for this issue. John Slidell, and James Mason were CSA Commissioners to France and England aboard the British mail steamer Trent, which was captured and brought back to the United States.
