1205
1205 1828 25 Cents. PCGS XF40. B-1, R.1. Toning
shadows the devices with original luster apparent in
the fields. An incredibly popular type in higher midgrade
levels and above. (photo) Est. 800-1,000
1201
1201 1876 20 Cents. XF. The final year of this popular
short-lived denomination with modest evidence of circulation
of the highpoints and a pleasing mixture of
toning on the surfaces. (photo) Est. 200-400
1206 1837 25 Cents. VF. A pleasing circulated example
of this desirable type with pastel accents on both sides.
Est. 60-80
1202 1876 20 Cents. AU Details, Cleaned. Lightly
cleaned and now largely toned over with a pleasing
overlay of peach-champagne patina. Well suited for
album placement. Est. 150-250
1203 1876 20 Cents. XF Details, Cleaned - Environmental
Damage. Deep gray in appearance with flares
of cobalt-blue, purple, and green color hugging the
devices. A black streak that runs across the lower obverse
surfaces accounts for the “details” moniker.
Est. 100-150
1207
1207 1853/53 25 Cents. Fine. FS-301. The surfaces of
this scarcely offered No Arrows type present quite
nicely for the grade with a rose-tan finish and no major
surface-impeding marks. A major variety with a bold
southern repunching of the 3 in the date. (photo)
Est. 400-600
1208 1853 Arrows and Rays 25 Cents. XF. A popular
one-year type example with some speckled toning on
the obverse. Est. 100-150
1204
1204 1805 25 Cents. Good. B-4, R.3. An attractive problem-free
specimen with even wear and soft gray color
on both sides. An affordable example of this Draped
Bust type. (photo) Est. 300-400
1209 Quintet of 1853 Arrows and Rays Seated Quarters.
Of the group, four are Philadelphia Mint specimens
with one being from New Orleans. The nicest of
the bunch is a P-Mint representative with AU details,
that has been lightly cleaned and has since retoned to
a champagne color. A short-lived and heavily demanded
type for its beautiful design. Sold as is, no returns.
