scale, flag, one leaning on fasces, angel with pen and
parchment right, “SPECIMEN.” twice on signature
lines. Back: Pink. “CINCUENTA” at center. A very
rare specimen bank issue printed on card stock with
minor rounding of the top two corners. The engravings
were prepared by ABNCo. A wonderful opportunity
for the specialist with a reported print run of

fancy values left and right, 2 POCs on signature line.
Back: Olive on multicolor underprint. Laureate
headed allegorical woman at center with cap and wing
on head, value flanking. FEB 14 1912 stamp on back
right upper margin. A 5 Colones issue from the same
design series was offered in the Mayer collection. A
beautiful and rare item from an original printing of
