The chassis made of high tensile steel (DOMEX® Swedish steel)
consists of U-shaped beams with riveted cross-members. This
technology derived from industrial vehicles offers lightness and
flexibility.
HARDI-EVRARD was granted the 2nd place at the Swedish Steel
Prize 2005 for the modern assembling technology. Designed to
overcome the limitations associated with high speeds on the road
as in the field, this chassis achieves the maximum working comfort.

Swedish quality
The position of the main components components (engine, main
tank, rinsing tank, reservoirs, pump etc.) has been specially studied
to optimise the weight distribution between the front and rear
axles which guarantees the best driveability and preserves the soil
structure. All the variable loads are situated at the centre of the
machine.

Maintenance Free Mechanical Suspension designed by
HARDI-EVRARD
The coil sprung chassis is mechanical and maintenance free.
Simplicity and reliability are maintained with HARDI-EVRARD
suspension principle which offers a very natural and optimal
movement over obstacles.
The front wheels are independently sprung by helical springs with
built in oleo-pnuematic shock absorbers are fitted parallel to the
beams. At rear an helical spring with oleo pneumatic shock absorber
is built-in at the centre of the chassis.
Due to its anti-roll design the rear axle movements do not disrupt the
stability of the boom. Chassis and boom stay parallel to the ground.

EasyDrive - Cruise control
and better economy
EasyDrive coordinates the different components of the ALPHA transmission.
EasyDrive optimises the global capacities of the transmission (speed/torque,
progressive acceleration and braking, going through the gears under load) and
establishes a new standard in terms of ease, safety and driving comfort.

The ALPHA VariTrack are fitted with Deutz engines meeting the
current anti-pollution standards. The range offers 2 engines
turbo charged common rail, water cooled, 4 cylinders 140 hp and
cylinders 190 hp. The fan driving by viscocoupler reduces significantly
the noise level in the cab. High diesel tank capacity (20
litres).
Easy maintenance
The opening of the two bonnets (upper and lower ones) respectively
by tipping up and sliding makes the access easy for the selfpropelled
sprayer maintenance.

With permanent 4 wheel drive, the ALPHA can be driven in 2 or 4
wheel steering. A foot pedal activates the "4 wheel steering" function.
The alignment of rear wheels is automatic.

VariTrack - a revolution for track management
The VariTrack device allows easy adjustments with
non-stop infinite track width adjustment of 45cm
from the narrowest to the widest required track
width.
There is no additional adjustment to be made
as the wheel track alignment is maintained by a
mechanical link. Without risk of wear or excess
play as all pivots have ball and socket joints at
each articulation, the VariTrack is a guarantee of
security and reliability .
This innovation, which received a Silver medal as
awarded at SIMA 2005, increases considerably
the self propelled design as it allows quick and
easy adjustment for variable row crops, but can
be used to vary the width of the machine for high
speed transport on the road in complete safty

With the axle suspension you can comfortably drive at 40 km/h on the road
The 40 km/h option allows you to increase the number of spraying hours
and decrease the costs per hectare.
This option includes a bigger variable flow
SAUER hydraulic pump and POCLAIN DYNA
+ hydraulic wheel motors at front.
For optimal safety, the ALPHA with 40 km/h
are equipped with dynamical braking on the
front axle controlled by a foot pedal in the cab.
The visibility is optimal on road as in the field. Drive in complete safety
In order to meet legislation at specific markets regarding the driving
width at 40 km/h on road, a device has been developed to bring the
boom closer to the cab in transport position. Please refer to your
local legislation.
The driving width never exceeds 2.55 m.
In parking position, the left boom arm moves out for free access to
the cab.

Optimized comfort
The cab has been developed with operator comfort the priority.
The driving position offers excellent visibility, space and quietness
The main controls are placed at the right hand side of the driving
seat, grouped by function and harmoniously integrated into the
console.
The multifunction joystick, which controls the hydrostatic drive,
allows:
• For forward and reverse movement
• The control of the spraying (main
on/off and sections on/off)
• The control of the boom hydraulic
functions (height, slant, tilt).
The design and positioning of the cab give an optimal front and side
visibility, on road as in the field.
As standard, the cab is fitted with tinted glass, heating with active
carbon filters, air conditioning, adjustable driving wheel and air suspended
seat.

Easy and safe for the operator to use

EasyClean filter
The ALPHA filter system consists of
the exclusive HARDI EasyClean filter and
CycloneFilter.
The pump, a HARDI diaphragm type, is driven
hydraulically and controlled electronically.

The EasyClean filter is a high capacity suction
filter.
The condition of the filter can be constantly
monitored on an external gauge. This ensures
that the filter is cleaned when needed
and only when needed. When cleaning the filter,
all you have to do is to twist the lid 90°.

HC 500 Controller sets new standards for

Boom strength and stability
ALPHA DELTA
The adjustment of boom height is done by
means of a parallelogram controlled by two
rams working in traction.
All axles are bushed and equipped with a
lubricator.
In transport position, the parallelogram is automatically
locked ensuring safety and long life.
The boom has coil spring pendulum
suspension with hydraulic damping.
The centre frame is fitted with an antiyaw
device and a damping device to
avoid the boom movements.
The parallelogram main frame has been
designed to allow higher driving speeds.

TWIN FORCE
The ALPHA is available with a wide range of booms.
All the booms have the unique HARDI suspension
system that will dampen all possible impacts in
field and road use.
TRIPLET nozzle holders with well-proven HARDI nozzles
are standard on DELTA and TWIN FORCE booms.

ALPHA VariTrack available with Pommier aluminium booms from
24 to 32 m.
Pommier aluminium booms are constructed of 4 round tubes in a
three-dimensional trellis structure. The profiles have internal ribs
which reinforce the boom strength while keeping an incomparable
resistance to corrosion.
The aluminium booms are equipped with PENTANOZZLES.
For night working a boom lighting kit is available as an option.

Wide range of nozzles
DELTA booms are mounted with synthetic piping and TRIPLET nozzle holders.
TWIN FORCE and Aluminium booms are mounted with stainless steel piping.
PENTANOZZLES holders on aluminium booms.
These nozzle holders, fitted with anti-drip diaphragms and positive lock, accept
all the HARDI nozzle range : ISO flat fan nozzles for high quality spraying,
Low Drift nozzles, MINIDRIFT or INJET air inclusion nozzles, as well as
5-hole nozzles and foam nozzles for liquid fertilisers and the new HARDI
DUOCAP for a double nozzle spraying.
Certification of new machines before delivery
As well as testing all the sprayer functions, every machine that
leaves the factory is certified using the Hardi Spray Scanner that the
spray distribution pattern meets acceptable standards.
A graph of the pattern is supplied to the purchaser with the instruction
manuals.
