7 Terms and Conditions 

All prices include royalties/fees to Hydrographic Offices and are single user license exclusive freight 

and VAT. (Ex works Hovlandsveien 52, Egersund Norway and according to Incoterms 2000). The 

definition of a single user is that the charts can be used on a maximum of 5 nodes of an integrated 

bridge system onboard a vessel. Singapore is the exception where ENC charts can only be used on a 

maximum of 2 nodes. 

All subscribers can update their charts free of charge via our C-MAP Update Service. C-MAP Update 

Service Online includes Notice to Mariners, while C-MAP Update Service Online+ also includes a 

complete new database. 

7.1 Subscription 

The subscription period is defined as the 12 month period from the date on which the first subscription 

is ordered and every 12 months thereafter. All charts, regardless of time of purchases, expire on the 

same date i.e. 12 months after the starting date of the first subscription. 

7.1.1 C-MAP ENC / Jeppesen PRIMAR ECDIS Service subscription alternatives 

As an alternative to a 12 months subscription we also offer subscriptions for 3 months and 6 months. 

The following price reductions are applicable: 

3 months: 36% of the full price for 12 month subscription 

6 months: 60% of the full price for 12 month subscription 

If ordered in addition to an existing 12 month subscription, these subscription alternatives will not be 

renewed automatically according to 7.3.2. 

3 and 6 months subscriptions are not available for Singapore. 

7.1.2 C-MAP ENC / Jeppesen PRIMAR ECDIS Service price bands 

Large Cell: ENC more than 60% of a paper chart equivalent 

Medium Cell: ENC between 30% and 60% of a paper chart equivalent 

Small Cell: ENC less than 30% of a paper chart equivalent 

7.2 Invoice policy on subscription 

7.2.1 Additional subscription orders 

Additional purchases during the subscription period are invoiced pro rata. For C-MAP ENC / Jeppesen 

PRIMAR ECDIS Service, please refer to 7.3.1. 

7.2.2 Renewal of subscription 

Jeppesen Norway will notify in writing, prior to the license period expiry, that the subscription is due for 

renewal. A renewal invoice for the next forthcoming year will be enclosed. For C-MAP ENC / Jeppesen 

PRIMAR ECDIS Service, please refer to 7.3.2.

7.3 Invoice policy on C-MAP ENC / Jeppesen PRIMAR ECDIS Service 

subscription 

7.3.1 Additional subscription orders 

For additional ENC purchases during the subscription period the pricing is as follows: 

12 – 7 months before subscription expiry: Full price – 100% 

6 – 4 month before subscription expiry: 60% of full price 

3 – 1 month before subscription expiry: 36% of full price 

Exceptions from this invoice policy is Singapore. These charts will be invoiced full price. 

7.3.2 Renewal of subscription 

Jeppesen Norway will send a renewal reminder per e-mail approximately 4 weeks prior to the 

subscription expiry date. Attached to this e-mail is a C-MAP chart catalog file (.clo) showing the current 

ENC portfolio. The customer has the opportunity to change the ENC coverage if needed. After 

receiving a confirmation of renewal we will immediately issue a renewal invoice and a new license to 

ensure uninterrupted access to the ENC data. 

7.3.3 Minimum order limit - new subscription 

For a new subscription the order limit is 100 USD. Orders below this amount will be invoiced 100 USD. 

7.3.4 Minimum order limit - existing subscription 

For an existing subscription (additional or new orders) the order limit is 10 USD. Orders below this 

amount will be invoiced 10 USD in addition to the order amount. 

7.4 Subscription cancellation 

Jeppesen Norway should be notified in writing of subscription cancellation within subscription expiry. 

Please refer to current Data License Agreement (8.0). 

7.5 School and Academy 

A price reduction of 50% is available for products used for educations purposes. The single user 

license can be used in up to 15 systems. 

The special price for school and academy is not available for ENC charts for Croatia, Estonia, India, 

Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Ukraine. 

7.6 Dispatch of goods 

7.6.1 Professional / Professional+ 

New issues of the Professional / Professional+ database are released on a weekly basis. Jeppesen 

Norway will as a standard supply a new version every month using DHL worldwide parcel express (for 

inland customers we use Bedriftspakke). Freight charges are added to the chart license invoice. Less 

or more frequent updates or other mail services can be obtained upon request.

7.6.2 C-MAP ENC / Jeppesen PRIMAR ECDIS Service 

New issues of the C-MAP ENC / Jeppesen PRIMAR ECDIS Service chart database are released on a 

weekly basis. Jeppesen Norway will as standard supply a new version every week using normal mail. 

Freight charges are added to the chart license invoice. 

7.7 Purchase 

A “One off” purchase, which allows permanent access to the data purchased, is available on one 

single user. Cartography updating and additional licenses / installations for the same end user will be 

charged 50% of the recommended retail price. 

7.8 Upgrading 

7.8.1 Subscription 

Format upgrading (from CM-93 Edition 2 to C-MAP Professional / C-MAP Professional+ or from C- 

MAP Professional to C-MAP Professional+) is free of charge. 

7.8.2 “One-off” Purchase 

Format upgrading is free of charge, but it also requires updating of cartography. Updating will be 

charged according to regular updating price, please refer to 7.7. 

7.8.3 C-MAP OceanView software 

C-MAP OceanView software upgrade can, when available, be provided for 50% of the basic price.

8 Data license agreement 

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THIS DATA LICENSE AGREEMENT CAREFULLY IN ITS ENTIRETY 

BEFORE DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, ACCESSING AND USING THE DATA. THIS DATA 

LICENSE AGREEMENT IS A LEGALLY BINDING AGREEMENT (THE “AGREEMENT”) BETWEEN 

YOU, THE LEGAL ENTITY OR ENTITIES CONTROLLING THE RIGHT TO USE THE SYSTEM ON 

WHICH THE DATA WILL BE USED, (“YOU”) AND JEPPESEN NORWAY AS (“JEPPESEN”). BY 

DOWNLOADING, INSTALLING, ACCESSING, OR USING THE DATA, YOU ARE AGREEING TO 

EACH TERM OF THIS AGREEMENT INCLUDING THE RESTRICTIONS ON USE, LIMITED 

WARRANTY AND DISCLAIMER, AMONG OTHER THINGS. IF THE DATA IS TO BE USED 

ONBOARD A VESSEL AND YOU ARE NOT THE OWNER OF THE VESSEL AND/OR IF YOU ARE 

ACCEPTING THESE TERMS ON BEHALF OF ANOTHER LEGAL ENTITY, YOU REPRESENT 

THAT YOU HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO ENTER INTO THIS AGREEMENT ON THEIR BEHALF. 

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR END-USERS (WHETHER EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS 

OR OTHERWISE) COMPLIANCE WITH THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT. 

JEPPESEN RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE OR MODIFY ANY OF THE TERMS AND 

CONDITIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT AT ANY TIME WITHOUT NOTICE TO YOU. THE LASTEST 

VERSION OF THIS AGREEMENT IS AVAILBLE AND CAN BE DOWNLOADED AT 

WWW.JEPPESEN.COM/MARINE. YOU MUST VISIT THE WEBSITE BEFORE DOWNLOADING 

AND/OR INSTALLING ANY UPDATED DATA TO REVIEW THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE 

MOST CURRENT VERSION OF THIS AGREEMENT BECAUSE DOWNLOADING AND/OR 

INSTALLING THE UPDATED DATA CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THE TERMS AND 

CONDITIONS IN THE MOST CURRENT VERSION OF THE AGREEMENT POSTED ON THE 

WEBSITE. 

All (a) data, vector digitized charts, chart folios, colour and monochrome chart image data, weather 

forecast data, piracy data, images, scripts, photographs, animation, video, audio, music and text, and 

any updates thereof (collectively “Data”), (b) installation CDs and/or DVDs, and any other 

accompanying materials including access control device(s) (“Dongle(s)”) and the HASP key 

embedded in the Dongle(s) needed to activate the data (collectively “Materials”) and (c) update 

services (“Services”) supplied to You by Jeppesen under this Agreement shall be subject to the terms 

and conditions of this Agreement. Please note that the terms and conditions set out in Section I 

(General Terms and Conditions) below apply to all Data, Materials and Services supplied to You, 

whereas Section II (Additional Terms and Conditions Regarding Warnings and Support Applicable 

Only to ENC Data) below sets out additional terms and conditions that is applicable only to official 

Electronic Navigational Charts and their updates (“ENC”), and Section III (Additional Terms and 

Conditions Regarding Ownership, Copyright and Warnings Applicable to Data Other than ENC) is 

applicable to all other Data excluding ENC. The terms and conditions set out in this Agreement 

supersede all other documents concerning the Data, Materials and Services, including previous 

versions of this Agreement. 

1. OWNERSHIP AND COPYRIGHT 

I. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS 

Jeppesen and/or its third party licensors shall retain all rights, title and interest in the copyrights, 

database rights and other neighbouring rights, patents, trade secrets, trademarks, service marks, 

design rights, proprietary information rights and other intellectual property rights as may exist 

anywhere in the world in the Data. The Data and certain Materials may be protected by copyright, 

database rights and other neighbouring rights. Except as expressly allowed by mandatory law, such 

protected works may not be copied, reproduced, translated, modified, adapted, reversed-engineered, 

decompiled, stored in a retrieval system, or retransmitted in whole or in part, in any form or by any 

means. This Agreement does not grant you any rights in connection with any trademarks or service 

marks of Jeppesen. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by Jeppesen and/or its authorized 

third party licensors.

2. LICENSE 

The Data You are about to load are licensed, not sold. Jeppesen grants to You a non-transferable, 

personal and non-exclusive right to use the Data, Materials and Services for Your own internal 

business purposes, and not in support of any other third party. Unless the Data are official ENC which 

meets SOLAS (Safety Of Life At Sea) chart carriage requirements, the Data may be used solely as a 

navigational aid, not as the sole or primary method of navigation (“License”). 

If You have acquired this License for “office” or “land-based” use only, one (1) License gives you the 

right to use the Data on one (1) single computer at a time for which You have an exclusive right to use. 

If You have acquired this License for use on a vessel or in an academy or school, one (1) License 

gives you the right to use the Data on one (1) integrated bridge system for which You have an 

exclusive right to use, with a maximum of eight (8) nodes connected to such integrated bridge system. 

The Data is “in use” on a computer (including an integrated bridge system) when it is loaded into 

temporary memory (i.e. RAM) of a computer. 

The term of the License can either be (i) a “One Off” perpetual license, or (ii) a subscription License 

(a “Subscription”) that entitles You to regular updates of the Data during the Subscription period. The 

validity of the License depends on Your and Your end-users compliance with the terms and conditions 

set forth in this Agreement. 

Upon the end of a Subscription period, Your Subscription will unless otherwise specified, be 

automatically renewed for new consecutive periods of Subscription unless You give Jeppesen a notice 

of termination no less than three (3) months prior to the expiry of the then current Subscription period. 

3. RESTRICTIONS ON USE 

Except (i) as otherwise expressly authorized herein by Jeppesen or (ii) as expressly allowed by 

mandatory law, or (iii) for the initial loading and other operations necessary for legal utilization of the 

Data, You shall NOT (a) copy, duplicate, reproduce or publish the Data or the Materials or any of their 

contents; (b) electronically transfer the Data or the contents of the Materials to multiple computers over 

a network; (c) distribute copies of the Data or the Materials to others by any means whatsoever; (d) in 

whole or in part change, modify, adapt, translate, reverse engineer, disassemble or decompile the 

Data or the Materials or create derivative works based on the Data or the Materials; (e) assign, rent, 

exchange, hire out, lend, lease or sublease the Data or the Materials or any copies thereof; (f) sell or 

transfer the Data or the Materials or any copies thereof; or (g) bundle, re-package, or include the Data 

or the Materials with any software in any way. Any unauthorized reproduction, use, or transfer of the 

Data and the Materials may be a crime and may subject You to damages and attorneys’ fees. 

4. TERMINATION 

In addition to Your right to terminate a renewal of a Subscription pursuant to Clause 2 above, and 

without prejudice to any other rights governed by this Agreement, the License to use the Data and the 

Materials and any right to receive Services granted under this Agreement will automatically terminate if 

you fail to comply with any term of this Agreement or if you fail to comply with any mandatory law 

applicable to Your use of the Data. In such event, you will not be entitled to reimbursement of any fees 

already paid to Jeppesen, but You will be liable for payment of any amounts due to Jeppesen. 

5. WARNING 

YOU ACKNOWLEDGE, SHALL COMPLY WITH, AND TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE 

FOLLOWING WARNINGS FROM JEPPESEN, AND DULY INFORM YOUR END USERS 

RESPONSIBLE FOR THE USE OF THE DATA OF THIS WARNING. 

NAUTICAL NAVIGATION IS AN INHERENTLY DANGEROUS ACTIVITY AND SHOULD ONLY BE 

ENGAGED IN BY PERSONS WITH ADEQUATE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE. TO THE EXTENT 

YOU HAVE ACQUIRED A “ONE OFF” LICENSE TO USE THE DATA, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE 

THAT SUCH DATA ARE CHANGING RAPIDLY, AND THAT NAUTICAL NAVIGATION 

UNDERTAKEN WITH THE AID OF SUCH DATA INCREASES THE INHERENT DANGER OF SUCH 

NAVIGATION.

THE DATA MAY NOT CONTAIN ALL NAUTICAL NAVIGATION DATA EXISTING WORLDWIDE 

AND YOU SHOULD MAKE NO ASSUMPTION OTHERWISE. 

UNLESS OTHERWISE CLEARLY STATED, THE DATA SHOULD ONLY BE USED AS AN AID TO 

NAVIGATION AND IN NO WAY DOES IT REPLACE THE END USER’S NAVIGATING 

EXPERIENCE AND DILIGENCE. THE DATA IS DESIGNED TO FACILITATE THE USE OF 

OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT CHARTS, NOT TO REPLACE THEM. ONLY OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT 

CHARTS AND NOTICES TO MARINERS CONTAIN THE CURRENT INFORMATION NEEDED FOR 

SAFE NAVIGATION. 

THE DATA MAY BE BASED ON DATA FROM DIFFERENT NATIONAL HYDROGRAPHIC 

OFFICES AND OTHER THIRD PARTY SOURCES. JEPPESEN SHALL UNDER NO 

CIRCUMSTANCES BE LIABLE FOR DEFECTS DUE TO INCORRECT OR MISSING 

INFORMATION FROM THESE SOURCES. 

NO DATA SHOULD BE USED ON ANY SINGLE HULL VESSEL, IN VIOLATION OF IMO MARPOL 

RULES OR WHICH IS CLASSIFIED AS A VERY LARGE CRUDE CARRIER WEIGHING MORE 

THAN 140, 000 TONS. 

6. LIMITED WARRANTY AND DISCLAIMER 

Jeppesen warrants that the media, if any, on which the Data is recorded and delivered are free from 

defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and operation. This limited warranty is effective 

for a period of sixty (60) days following your receipt of such media. The limited warranty provided herein 

is made to You if You (a) have fully paid the required license fee for use of the Data, (b) have fully 

complied with the terms of this Agreement, and (c) are the original licensed end-user. No warranty is 

made to any other person or entity. 

During the warranty period set forth above, Jeppesen will replace any media which proves defective in 

materials or workmanship, without charge, on an exchange basis. This is Jeppesen’s entire liability and 

your sole and exclusive remedy. This remedy shall not apply if the media on which the Data is stored 

has been damaged by negligence, accident, improper or unreasonable use, or by any other cause 

unrelated to defective material or workmanship. 

THE DATA IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE 

THAT THE DATA IS OF A GENERAL NATURE, AND THAT IT MAY NOT BE DESIGNED FOR, 

ADEQUATE TO, OR CONFORM WITH YOUR SPECIFIC NEEDS AND/OR PURPOSES, NOR THAT 

IT CONFORMS WITH SPECIFIC SAFETY REQUIREMENTS OR GOVERNMENTAL STANDARDS 

OR REGULATIONS IN YOUR COUNTRY. JEPPESEN MAKES NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED 

WARRANTY, AND DISCLAIMS ANY LIABILITY FOR THE DATA, THE ACCURACY OF THE DATA 

SOURCE MATERIAL, AND ANY NONCONFORMANCE OR DEFECT IN THE DESIGN, ADEQUACY, 

ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, SAFETY OR CONFORMANCE WITH ANY GOVERNMENT 

STANDARDS OR REGULATIONS OF SUCH DATA, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY 

EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR 

PURPOSE. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES, SO 

THE ABOVE EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. HOWEVER, YOU SHALL INFORM 

JEPPESEN IN DUE TIME IF ANY PROVISION MAY BE OVERRULED BY ANY APPLICABLE 

MANDATORY RULES. 

TO THE EXTENT YOU HAVE ACQUIRED A “ONE OFF” LICENSE TO USE DATA, YOU 

ACKNOWLEDGE THAT SUCH DATA ARE CHANGING RAPIDLY, AND THAT NAUTICAL 

NAVIGATION UNDERTAKEN WITH THE AID OF SUCH DATA INCREASES THE INHERENT 

DANGER OF SUCH NAVIGATION. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR, AND JEPPESEN 

DISCLAIMS ANY LIABILITY FOR, ANY USE OF SUCH DATA. 

THE LIMITED WARRANTIES AND OTHER OBLIGATIONS AND LIABILITIES OF JEPPESEN, AND 

YOUR REMEDIES SET FORTH IN THIS AGREEMENT, ARE EXCLUSIVE AND IN SUBSTITUTION 

FOR ANY OTHER RIGHTS, CLAIMS AND REMEDIES YOU WOULD OTHERWISE HAVE AGAINST 

JEPPESEN WITH RESPECT TO THE DATA, THE MATERIALS AND THE SERVICES PROVIDED 

HEREUNDER.

Notwithstanding the exclusion of warranty for the Data, should You encounter any problems with the 

Data or find a suspected error, You should report such problem or suspected error to Jeppesen as soon 

as reasonably possible. 

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY 

JEPPESEN WILL HAVE NO OBLIGATION OR LIABILITY FOR ANY INDIRECT LOSS 

(INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF USE, LOSS OF REVENUE OR 

PROFIT, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF INFORMATION, OR ANY OTHER INDIRECT 

LOSS) WHETHER ARISING IN CONTRACT OR OTHERWISE, IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE 

OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE DATA, THE MATERIALS OR THE SERVICES PROVIDED UNDER 

THIS AGREEMENT, EVEN IF JEPPESEN HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH 

DAMAGES. IN ANY CASE, JEPPESEN'S ENTIRE LIABILITY UNDER ANY PROVISION OF THIS 

AGREEMENT SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT ACTUALLY PAID BY YOU FOR THE DATA 

DURING THE LATEST TWELVE (12) CALENDAR MONTHS. THESE LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY 

DO NOT APPLY IF JEPPESEN HAS ACTED WITH GROSS NEGLIGENCE OR WILLFUL 

MISCONDUCT. YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE LIMITATIONS SET FORTH IN THIS SECTION 

ARE INTEGRAL TO THE AMOUNT OF FEES CHARGED HEREUNDER, AND RECOGNIZE THAT 

WERE JEPPESEN TO ASSUME ANY FURTHER LIABILITY BEYOND THAT SET FORTH IN THIS 

SECTION, SUCH FEES WOULD BE SUBSTANTIALLY HIGHER. 

If an arbitration panel or court of competent jurisdiction determines that relevant laws in force may 

imply warranties and liabilities which cannot be excluded or limited or which can only partly be 

excluded or limited, then the limit on Jeppesen’s liability set forth in this Agreement shall apply to the 

fullest extent permitted by law. If Jeppesen cannot exclude or limit a warranty or liability implied by law, 

this Agreement shall be read and construed subject to such provisions of law. 

8. INDEMNIFICATION 

You will indemnify and hold harmless Jeppesen from and against all claims and liabilities (including 

claims by third parties including but not limited to vessel owners, operators or managers and cargo 

owners or insurers), and costs and expenses (including attorneys' fees), incident thereto or incident to 

successfully establishing the right to indemnification, for injury to or death of any person or persons, 

including Your employees but not employees of Jeppesen, or for loss of or damage to any property, 

including any vessel and cargo, arising out of Your use of the Data provided hereunder, whether or not 

arising in tort or occasioned by the negligence of Jeppesen, except to the extent of any obligation, 

liability, claim or remedy in tort due to the gross negligence or wilful misconduct of Jeppesen. Your 

obligations under this indemnity will survive the termination of this Agreement and any Subscription 

related hereto. 

9. EXPORT COMPLIANCE 

You shall be responsible for Your compliance with any applicable export control restrictions, laws and 

regulations as may be modified from time to time, imposed by the governments of the U.S. and, if 

applicable, other countries. You shall not attempt to, or knowingly export or re-export any Data, 

Materials or Services covered under this Agreement to any country, or national thereof, prohibited 

from obtaining such Data, Materials or Services, either directly or indirectly. You shall, at Your sole 

cost and expense, obtain and maintain in effect all permits, licenses and other consents necessary to 

conduct Your respective activities hereunder. 

10. AUDIT 

Jeppesen will at all times be entitled to audit your compliance with this Agreement, and for this 

purpose You are obliged to grant Jeppesen access to vessels, premises, records and other things 

Jeppesen deems necessary for such audit. 

11. ASSIGNMENT 

Jeppesen may assign and transfer all its rights and obligations under the Agreement to any third party.

12. GOVERNING LAW AND LEGAL VENUE 

This Agreement shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of Norway, without 

regard to its conflicts of laws provisions. 

Any dispute, controversy or claim arising out of or relating to this Agreement or breach thereof, shall 

be finally settled under the Rules of Conciliation and Arbitration of the International Chamber of 

Commerce by one or more arbitrators appointed in accordance with the said Rules. The place of 

arbitration shall be Oslo, Norway. The language of arbitration shall be English. This arbitration clause 

shall not deprive any of the parties from seeking interim injunctive relief in national courts of competent 

jurisdiction. 

13. AMENDMENTS 

Jeppesen reserves the right to change or modify any of the terms and conditions of this Agreement at 

any time without notice to You. Any changes or modifications to the terms and conditions will be 

effective on the date the change or modification is made, and will be provided to You with the next 

Data update for Your acceptance prior to downloading, installing, accessing or using the updated 

Data. 

II. ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS REGARDING WARNINGS AND SUPPORT 

APPLICABLE ONLY TO ENC DATA 

ENC are reproduced with the permission of various national hydrographic offices and are protected by 

copyright. ENC currently only meets SOLAS (Safety of Life At Sea) chart carriage requirements if it is 

kept up to date and is used on a type approved ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information 

System) with a suitable back up arrangement. 

III. ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS REGARDING OWNERSHIP, COPYRIGHT AND 

WARNINGS APPLICABLE TO DATA OTHER THAN ENC 

The Data is derived, in part, from material provided with the permission of various national 

hydrographic offices and other third parties (the “Licensors”). Jeppesen is an authorised user and 

licensee of selected data products under separate agreements with the Licensors. All rights are 

reserved by the respective Licensors and copyright restrictions apply. The information may not be 

modified or exploited by reverse engineering of formats and encryption or copied, reproduced, 

translated, or reduced to any electronic medium or machine readable form, in whole or part. 

No Licensor has verified the Data and no Licensor accepts any liability for the accuracy of 

reproduction or for any modifications that may have been made to the information supplied. 

Furthermore, no Licensor warrants that the Data meets any regulations as an appropriate product for 

navigation or that it contains the latest hydrographic information available. 

Electronic charts are an aid to navigation designed to facilitate the use of official government charts, 

not replace them. New charts or Notice to Mariners corrections will render the Data obsolete and 

inaccurate. Updates may be available from Jeppesen. The Data licensed hereunder is inadequate as 

a primary means of navigation, and should be used only as supplements to official government charts 

and traditional navigation methods, unless otherwise specified by National Maritime Authorities. Only 

up-to-date official government charts and notices to mariners contain all information needed for the 

safety of navigation and, as always, the captain is responsible for their proper use and awareness of 

current conditions.
