Reynald Hon – crossing ball in 3rds
Antony Robinson – heading in 3rds
Eddie Najm – scoring in 1sts
in the defence, Trinity snuck in a cheeky goal.
The boys quickly retaliated with a beautiful
corner kick from striker extravaganza Ryan
Emmett to the one and only notorious Eamon
Hugh who sealed the deal with his golden
knee. After celebrating exuberantly, it was half
time. The rest of the game was mostly played
in our half with a few breakthroughs from the
mid fielders Nick Baildon, Ollie Ritchie and
Tom Ho. With extraordinary keeping from
Lewis Vincent Hull and exceptional defence
from Ben O’Brien and co, we held Trinity
off for the rest of the game. Good game well
played boys and get ready for Knox.
Goal scorers – Benjamin Akres (2)
The first half of this match belonged to
Trinity, with the visitors putting away three
unanswered goals. A lack of communication
and off-the-ball player tracking gave Trinity
plenty of possession and momentum. A
pointed discussion with Coach Paris during
the interval and a Ben Akres double in the
second-half breathed new life into the side.
For a while, it looked like a comeback was in
the making, with renewed intensity coming to
the fore. Try as the boys might, the equaliser
could not be found and a late Trinity goal put
the result beyond doubt.
CRA 0; TRI 5
Cranbrook endured a heavy loss against
Trinity this week, with the visitors dominating
possession and demonstrating greater
intensity and physicality. Cranbrook found it
difficult to match the speed at which Trinity
played, and conceded two early goals. Trinity’s
keeper offered up a number of fumbles but
we were unable to capitalise. Once again,
Jake Simeonides was busy in the midfield,
linking well with Harry Kelsey. David Angles
had a solid return to the team, making some
spectacular saves in the second half.
Goal scorers –own goal; A. Phillips
The 8As played a strong Trinity side and
started well in the first half. We scored two
goals, the first was fumbled by the Trinity
keeper from a Tom Smith shot; the second a
combined effort from Carl Aksel Soerensen
and Asha Phillips. Unfortunately, immediately
after we scored a goal, Trinity struck back
and equalised. In the second half we lost
momentum and watched Trinity add two
more goals. A disappointing result from a very
sound start.
The team didn’t show some of the talent
that training had alluded too, and allowed
a coordinated Trinity team to run at will.
