Panel picture, a figure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Risen Saviour said to have formed <strong>the</strong><br />

upper part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> ancona <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Rossi Chapel in S. Pietro in Gessate at<br />

Milan (<strong>the</strong> Berlin Pieta).'<br />

' T<strong>his</strong> picture is mentioned in <strong>the</strong> copy <strong>of</strong> Albuzzio's MS. (see list <strong>of</strong> MSS., p. 355,<br />

note 2), but not in <strong>the</strong> MS. which we quoted on p. 196, note 2. The reference to <strong>the</strong><br />

picture is as follows :<br />

" Nell' mezzo tondo che serve di linimento all' ancona vedesi una<br />

figura in grande benche non intera, rappresentante il Redentore risorto." We have<br />

no fur<strong>the</strong>r clue to t<strong>his</strong> picture and cannot tell whe<strong>the</strong>r it originally formed part <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

altarpiece.
