Main duties of the placement<br />

Bramshott and Ewhurst wards at the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Surrey</strong><br />

Dr Helen Wilson and Dr Hiro Khoshnaw<br />

Reviewing all patients admitted with fractured neck of<br />

femur on admission ensuring background history and<br />

collateral available and alerting seniors to any medical<br />

complications potentially delaying theatre. Attending<br />

trauma meeting to ensure good liaison between<br />

orthopaedic and geriatric teams. Performing initial falls<br />

and bone health assessment and ensuring cognitive<br />

assessment completed where appropriate. Liaison with<br />

families / NOK. Attending the MDT.<br />
