He also co-sponsored 2008 and 2009 Peace Corps funding legislation. He also signed a letter to the President urging increased Peace Corps funding in his Fiscal Year 2012 budget. He should be thanked for these actions. Representative McDermott signed onto past House letters of the US Global Leadership Coalition, urging strong support for international affairs funding.
