Arts and culture is alive and well inVernonlThe North
Okanagan Arts Council and the Vernon Community
Arts centre support numerous artist¡c and cultural
projects w¡tlì¡n the community.
The Arts centre p¡ovides year-round creative
programming and the public is encouraged to drop
b, check out the handiwork of local artists, or sign
up for a cl¿ss.There's one to match any interest, from
pâinting and draw¡ng to spinning, weaving, rock
hounding and gardening.
Vernon is also home to the Vernon and District
Performing Arts Centre, the Vernon Museum and
Arch¡ves, the Vernon Public Art Gallery Powerhouse
Theatre and numerous other galleries and live
theatre grouPs.
Several festivals take place throughout the year,
including the VeInon Winter Carn¡val, Sunshine
Festival, Funtastic 5lo-pitch and Music Festival,
Creative Chaos and Shoparama. These, along w¡th
mäny other events, disPlays and shows, add to
Vernon's vibrant and vital cultural scene.
Vernon is known for its strong sense of commun¡ty,
and for the number of selvices available to those
who live here.
Agencies often work together to create programs
as needs ¿rise. The result has been an abundance of
services that are easily accessible. Whether you are

prevention, seniors programs and much more.

services to meet Vernon's healthcare needs The
Vernon Jubilee Hospilal offers acute and emergency
care, ambulatory câre, medicine and surgery,
psychiatry, maternity and pediattìcs.
lnte¡ior Health also provides several health services
within the community, including mental health and
add¡ct¡ons services, public health nursing, Abor¡9inal
health, home and commun¡ty care progrãms,
residential ând assisted living fâc¡lities as well as
laboratory and diagnostic services.
