be challenging in BC. However, the City ofVernon,
together wilh its community partners, has been
working dll¡gently to ensure attainable housing is at
the forefront ofVernon's development plans.
The Atta¡nâble Housing Strategy, developed in 2008,
has resulted in a number of recommendâtlons,
some of which have alteady been implemented'
Future projects are being planned that will increase
multi-family housing as well as provide ownership
opportunities and affordãble renting opt¡ons.
Several services are available wlthin Vernon to help
people w¡th their houslng needs' Real estate agents,
property mânagement comPanies, âs well as various
community serv¡ce end government organ¡zatlons
can provide ass¡stance, from rental list¡ngs and
subsidized housing to informãtion on mortgages'
new homes and the resale market.
