Tannis Nelson shared some changes that have been made to
the website and the committee discussed naming a
'Community Bloomers' section to highlight special individuals
in the community.
Discussed collaboration with local schools to produce seed
bookmarks.
Buffy Baumbrough provided an overview of her phone call
with Catherine Kennedy, the Executive Director of
Communities ln Bloom, regarding strategic planning for the
Provincial program.
Kim Tregaskis volunteered to read and report on monthly
newsletters going back to October 2010 and continuing on.
GARDEN CONTEST -
ACTION ITEM: Committee Clerk to fonruard monthly CiB
Newsletters to members.
Members discussed adding an edible item portion to the
THOUGHTS FOR NEXT contest.
YEAR
Committee agreed that rather than changing format
completely it would be better to add something each year, so
as not to lose the momentum and excitement that builds in
participants over the year.
New ideas were discussed for the Sunshine Festival in late
June. lt would be beneficial to have something for sale to
generate interest.
Contest ideas were reviewed - ie: Running a Salsa Recipe
contest on Facebook with the winning recipe (based on
votes) to be included on a package of seeds (all pertaining to
the salsa recipe) being sold at Sunshine Festival or a tomato
plant give-away.

PRESENTATION
A presentation was provided to the Committee on
Permaculture design and how Communities ln Bloom could
adopt their principles and use in local projects. The following
