All marketing and communications materials will be provided to
the communities in both official languages.
Official Spokespeople
While the 25th Anniversary Relay Team will have a number of
spokespeople, a member or members of your Community Planning
Team may be asked to act as a spokesperson for your community'
Please identify an individual from your CPT who would be
comfortable speaking with the media if required'
Online Communications
The Rick Hansen website (www.rickhansen.com) will contain
comprehensive information that outlines the Relay route across
Canada. There will also be a251h Anniversary Relay micro-site
that will be launched in the spring of 2011. The Relay Team will
regularly update the website by adding engaging and pertinent
content. Examples of the 2Sth Anniversary Relay website content
will include feature stories and interviews, photos, videos,
information on the original Rick Hansen Man ln Motion World
Tour, outlines of other 2Srh Anniversary initiatives and frequently
asked questions.
Commercial Rights Management
The various marks, branding, graphics and sponsor images
used during the Rick Hansen 25th Anniversary Relay are under
the protection of the Rick Hansen Foundation. This protection
ensures that only official sponsors, licensees or government
partners receive the benefits of having a direct and contractual
business relationship or affiliation with the 2Sth Anniversary
Relay and the Rick Hansen Foundation. Any contravention of this
policy may undermine the ability of the Rick Hansen Foundation
to raise funds through their sponsorship program. Your Relay
Representative will work with you to ensure that event and
Relay areas are free and clear of any conflicting companies or
organizations attempting to capitalize on the scope and appeal of
the 25th Anniversary Relay and community celebrations.
