REQUEST TO PARTICIPATE
PURPOSE:
To review the request from the Rick
Celebration" for the community in March
should organize the event.

REGOMMENDATION:
THAT Council agree to participate as an "End of Day Celebration" Community in ltlay 2012
and advise the Rick Hansen Foundation accordingly;
AND FURTHER, that Council establish an "End of Day Celebration" Committee with
representation from the following:
(a) One(1) Member of Council, plus one (l) alternate;
(b) Two(2) Representatives from the Community, at least one of which represents an
association providing support for the disabled;
(c) One(1) Representative of the R'C.M.P.;
(d) One(1 ) Representative from School District #22 Board of Education
(e) One(1) Staff person appointed by the CAO
ALTERNATIVES & IMPLICATIONS :
ANALYSIS:
Council may vote not to pañicipate in an "End of Day Celebration". The implication is that a
welcome tor tne participants in the 25th Anniversary of the Rick Hansen Man in Motion tour
will not be organized and citizens will not have an official event to attend.
