Dr. Merrifield defined <strong>the</strong> Z-angle as <strong>the</strong> angle formed by <strong>the</strong> <strong>profile</strong> line (a line from <strong>the</strong> chin to <strong>the</strong> most<br />

procumbent lip) and Frankfort Horizontal. Ideally it should form an angle of 75˚ - 88˚for all races. On Caucasians<br />
