The 2014 Terrace Rugby Program
is well underway and will
once again see a record number
of boys pulling on the Red and
Black butcher stripe jersey. A
special welcome to our friends
from Brisbane Grammar School.
The Terrace Rugby Community
has developed a solid foundation
with clear goals and objectives.
The Rugby program is
committed to offering a safe and
well - structured environment
with the focus on participation,
enjoyment and the opportunity
to learn. In doing so, the program
provides boys, coaches and referees
with a strong framework
for improvement and abundant
opportunity to develop the key
elements of Rugby.
On Saturday, 38 teams will be
taking the field to represent Terrace.
With so many boys taking
part, the program requires
a huge amount of support. This
is achieved by working in close
partnership with the coaches
and managers, referees, parents,
doctors and sports aids. On
behalf of the 750 boys playing
Rugby – I thank you.
I would like to particularly thank
Mr Darren Round and the Rugby
Supporters’ Group for the work
they put into the program and
making a day at Tennyson the
best schoolboy Rugby can offer.

I would like to acknowledge all
Open Rugby players and thank
them for their efforts over the
years playing Rugby at Terrace.
These young men, along with
the First XV, have played Rugby
at Terrace, some since Year 5 in
2007. Your parents have supported
you through all those
years… win, lose or draw. The
Terrace Community is very
proud of you and in your final
year at Terrace we want to publically
thank- you for pulling on
the Red and Black jersey over
many years.
I would also like to take this opportunity
to thank the coaches
Anthony Gibb and Ben
McCormack and manager
Patrick Howell for their efforts. I
also would like to acknowledge
the efforts of our strength and
conditioning coaches Simon
Price and Jono Roussetos and
physio David Bick.
The First XV squad has shown
good pre-season form, including
on tour to Melbourne playing St
Kevin’s College, practice matches
against Ipswich Grammar
School, Nudgee College and last
weekend Brisbane Boys College.
I am confident the First XV head
into today’s game well prepared
to take on BGS.
A special mention to the First
XV captain Connor Moroney on
his selection in the Australian
