Out of 93 glrls and 116 boys followed up for morbidity, illness was observed In 70 girls
and 96 boys. The detalls of the direct cost of illness are given in Table 7.9.
(c) Cost of educatlon
Data were obtalned from the school on the cost of educatlon of a chlldlyear In the
pnmary mlddle and hlgh school levels (Table 7.10) In the cohort group there were 58

from 80 out of the 99 selected famil~es The total expenses for the pnmary school
ch~ldrenlannum was Rs 8701- The expenses In the middle and h~gh school per annum
