Stewart, PhD 1980,
received the 2008 Lifetime
Achievement Award from
the Scientific Committee
of the Third Congress of
the World Union of Wound
Healing Societies in recognition
of his research in
wound care and development
of pressure-relieving
solutions. Stewart is founder
of the National Pressure
Ulcer Advisory Panel, an
organization devoted to the
prevention and management
of pressure ulcers.
He is president and chief
clinical officer of Gaymar
Industries, where he focuses
on medical aspects of
the development of treatment
products. He resides
in Orchard Park, NY. James
B. Bronk, MD 1981, is a fellow
of the American College
of Radiology, a partner at
Solano Imaging Medical
Associates and chair of the
radiology department at
Northbay Medical Center.
He serves on the California
Medical Association board
of trustees and is a member
of both the American
Roentgen Ray Society and
the Radiological Society
of North America. Bronk
resides in Napa, CA. Tim
Forhan, MBA 1982, has
joined Sanctuary Wealth
Management as a principal
and senior vice president
of systems development.
He has previous experience
serving in various
executive positions at IBM.
Forhan resides in Pocatello,
ID. Bruce Lieberthal, DDS
1983, is vice president of
product management and
development at Henry
Schein Practice Solutions,
where he previously served
as director of product
management. He has also
developed, built, supported
and sold multiple software
platforms relevant to dentistry
and endodontistry. He
has 14 years’ experience as
a practicing dentist and lives
in Wrentham, MA. Richard
L. Michel, MBA 1983 & BS
1977, is vice chair and head
of the commercial banking
business unit of National
City Corporation, where
he is responsible for all
aspects of commercial banking.
He has more than 30
years of banking experience
with Citigroup and recently
served as group executive
of the Global Industrials
Group for Citigroup’s global
corporate bank. Michel lives
in Naperville, IL. Ellen R.
Pierino, MLS 1984 & BA
1972, is the 2008-2009 vice
president
of the UB
Women’s
Club. She is
coordinator
of documents
and risk management
for
pierino
Damon & Morey LLP and is
a member of multiple community
organizations. She
lives in Buffalo, NY.
M. Ciprich, JD 1985, *Paula is secretary
and general counsel for
National Fuel Gas Company,
where she has served in a
number of positions for 20
years. She is also treasurer
of the University at Buffalo
Law Alumni Association and
a recipient of the 40 under
Forty Award presented
by Buffalo Business First.
Ciprich resides in Amherst,
NY. David P. Chameli,
BA 1986, is a member of
the governing board for
Rainbows, an international
nonprofit organization dedicated
to helping children and
families cope with loss and
grief. He is associate general
counsel for Sears Holdings
Corporation and lives in
Hoffman Estates, IL. Lauren
J. Fix, BS 1986, is author
of Lauren Fix’s Guide to
Loving Your Car: Everything
You Need to Know to Take
Charge of Your Car and
Get On with Your Life (St.
Martin’s Griffin, 2008).
She is a car technician, a
former race car driver and
race driving instructor, and
current cohost of the DIY
Network’s television show
Talk 2 DIY Automotive. Fix
has worked for Ford, BMW,
Infiniti and the Be Car Care
Aware consumer campaign.
She lives in Williamsville,
NY. Ross P. Lanzafame, JD
1986, is chair of the health
law section of the New York
State Bar Association. He is
a partner at Harter Secrest
& Emery and
has served
on the
executive
committee
of the health
law section
lanzafame since 1999.
Lanzafame has additional
experience before earning
his law degree in the management
of hospital surgical
and neonatal intensive-care
units. He lives in Rochester,
NY. David Lazerson, PhD
1986 & BA 1973, is a 2008
inductee to the National
Teachers Hall of Fame and
recipient
of the
2007 “Arts
Teacher of
the Year
Award” for
Broward
lazerson County (FL)
Public Schools. He teaches
special education at the
