“Maxi-Brake” type Park Brake
The emergency release reservoir serves
the same purpose as caging.
It will allow the operator to move the
vehicle a short distance (usually to the
side of the road) in the event a failure of
the main system caused an emergency
application of the park brake.
Apart from these differences, the maxibrake
works in exactly the same way as
the “piggy-back” brakes seen earlier.
