• If the relay valve were not installed in the
system, the front brakes would be applying
before the rear brakes. (The foot valve is closer
to the front brakes, than the rear brakes.)
• Since most braking is accomplished by the
rear brakes of a long wheel base vehicle, this
would not be a desirable situation.
