Reaction time, also generally about 3/4
second. This is the time it takes for us to
react to a need to stop or take some other
defensive action. Again, at 50 km/h,
your vehicle will travel 13 meters (or
one bus length) over the road before
the brakes even begin to stop the
vehicle. Here is where defensive driving
techniques can make for a whole lot less
accidents.
