Perception Time (See-Think)
Perception Time, generally, is 3/4
second. This is the time it takes for us to
perceive that there might be a need to
stop or take some other defensive action.
At 50 km/h, your vehicle will travel 13
meters (or one bus length) before your
brain even decides it would be a good
idea to do something about the hazard.
What types of techniques can you think of
that would help us reduce or compensate
for this 3/4 second delay?
