He has a close bond with his horse and will do anything to protect him. Mahkwa's single objective is to eliminate the strangers from the land. While not one for jokes, Mahkwa will always open up to a funny prankster. BACKGROUND Years ago, a young Mohican warrior was attacked by a bear as he gathered herbs in the forest for his pregnant wife. Fighting for his life, he managed to kill the huge bear. Taking it as a sign, he named his son Mahkwa. As Mahkwa grew in age and strength, he towered over his father, becoming more like the bear for which he was named. Having become one of the best warriors in the tribe, Mahkwa was allowed to bond with Wastachquaam, the former chief's best horse. Together, the pair seemed unstoppable, repeatedly defending his people from other tribes and the encroaching white strangers. Eventually, he was given a bride, but not wanting the marriage, she fled to the forests. There, she was captured by white men scouting the land and sent eastward to teach her culture and force her into translating for them. Mahkwa now stirs all tribes against the strangers he hates. HIS SECRET: Mahkwa lives with the silent guilt that he caused the former chief's death. “All things have beginning and end. Nothing lasts for all time. ”
